Since I last updated, I’ve received sample boxes from Ipsy, Topbox and Julep, but I don’t feel like writing about them right now (all were fine, maybe even good, but anyway. My blog.)
In my last post, I mentioned that I was kind of undecided on Beauty Box 5. Based on this month’s box, I’m going to keep it around for a bit. It wasn’t FANTASTIC, but I’m happy with it for the $12 I paid for it.
You may recall that last month, I got some shampoo and conditioner (zzzzz), sunscreen (zzzzz), eye shadow I didn’t like and TAN TOWELS (BOOOOO). This month:
An improvement. Mos def.
This month’s box included:
La Fresh Travel Lite Antibacterial Wipes: I love (LOVE) La Fresh’s lavender eye makeup remover wipes. I’ve received these a few time and have seriously contemplated buying them, but they’re a little on the pricey side for wipes. I wish this box had included those instead of the antibacterial wipes, but I know they’re of good quality, I like the brand, etc. I’ll definitely use them.
Jean Pierre (ooh la la) nail polish remover wipes: ehhhh. I don’t know. I mean. I can’t remember the last time I was like “MAN, I REALLY NEED to take off this nail polish, but I don’t have a bottle of remover and cotton pads with me. I guess I’ll just suffer.” But, on the other hand, I’ve had a few occasions at work when I’ve gotten all pick happy on my nail polish and then felt like I look like a bit of a crackhead, so. I guess I’ll throw these in my bag and be assured I’ll be able to handle my next nail polish emergency.
H2O Plus Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment: “Younger-looking skin is just a day way…” WHAT? For real? Oh man, I can’t WAIT. (I actually quite like moisturizers like this, so I’m looking forward to trying it.)
Every Beauty Foot Smoother: ooooh. I almost bought one of these the other day. I am kind of obsessed with my feet in the summer – I love going for pedicures but I’m also always doing them at home because ew, DIRTY and also it feels nice and I’m princessy about my feet like that. I have a foot file thinger and a PedEgg and. Um. The thing is. There was a terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible incident with the PedEgg this week. Terrible. Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible. And let’s just say I was in the market for a new foot thinger. And it’s PINK.
And doesn’t have a receptacle! Because, I’m just going to tell you. Maybe collecting your foot shavings isn’t such a good idea. In the summer. In a damp bathroom. Where you might forget it for a few days. Or weeks. Or, you know. Longer. HOOOOOOARFFFF #neverforget
(Also, apparently this thing won a Shecky award! A – Shecky. A Shecky award. From Shecky. I guess that’s a thing.)
Be a Bombshell lip gloss in Hot Mess. I like it! I like it a lot! Oh it’s SO NICE after the coral, uh, hot messes, I’ve received in a few boxes this summer to actually get a colour I like. I received a full sized gloss, which is worth $14, so this alone pays for the box. The formulation seems quite nice too. It IS a gloss, but I’ve had it on for for a while and it’s holding up quite nicely. See?
The last time I had my hair cut, I got bags cut. BANGS. Above the eyebrow BANGS (that were a terrible idea) but good gravy, me. Time for a haircut, because seriously:
But despite my hair, I am in a good mood so I’ll leave you with this gift, a trailer from Rock and Roll High School aka one of the greatest movies of ALL TIME. Enjoy.
