better late than never

January 28, 2008

I finally got around to putting up some of my pictures from my earlier (2003/2004) trips Thailand and Cambodia up on flickr. Here are the links:

Cambodia — this is a link to a collection. There are several different sets within the collection. Hopefully I have the right temples in the right sets…it’s been a while since I looked at these pictures!

Thailand — another collection link. This collection also includes the set from my most recent trip, which most people have probably already seen.

The set with the most pictures is here. This set includes pictures of Somewhere Else in the days after the tsunami.

There are links in this blog (over to the right) to individual travel categories for Cambodia, Thailand and India (obviously India is the most complete, since I started this blog for that trip) if you are looking for stories that go with pictures. I’m still working on updating the blog with pictures from the 2003/2004 trips.

January 4, 2008

It’s 4:45 am and I can’t sleep. As usual, the night-owl on vacation in me has reversed night into day and I’m wide awake, and will get up at a disgusting hour tomorrow (let’s just not call it “morning”).

So I decided to take a break from following the latest Britney drama on the internet (someone needs to lock that girl up and get her some help before before it’s too late - my god y’all) and upload a bunch of pictures to my flickr account (because look! my brother got a puppy!)

As I looked through my most recent pictures I realized ummm, hmmm, it sure looks like my life lately is a party all the time (party all the time, party all the timmmme) and oh my god, it is not.

The thing is, I don’t take pictures on the nights my boy and I lie around watching CNN (no, really. we do.) or the nights I spend curled up on the couch with my laptop on my lap. And I’m certainly not taking any when I soak in the tub with a good book.

I am definitely enjoying my life right now, but I like the quiet times just as much as the party times. So I think I’ll go to bed with a good book and read, not party, until the sun comes up. And think of my next trip to Vegas.
