Had breakfast at Fig’s. We don’t think he likes us. We were reading the guest book and someone commented “Best toast in India!”. How strange. It is pretty good though.
Headed out to the Fort, called Meherangarh.
Really amazing. Jodhpur is called the Blue City, many, many buildings are painted blue – when you look out from the fort, it’s quite a site.
We took advantage of the audio tour at the fort and it was great, told us lots of details about the old fort. There are tons of cool pictures in the Jodhpur photo set, check them out!
After the fort we went to a crematorium/mausoleum called Jaswant Thada. (Jeff: “I smell burning…”). Very beautiful – it is made of marble and the light glows through the walls in some places.
We had a really, really good lunch at a place called On the Rocks. So good. Mmmm, chicken wings and chicken khati roll and some chicken with cheese on it. So, so good.
I went back to Fig’s after lunch and had a nap, Jeff and Mo went shopping. We had dinner at Fig’s which was…meh. Stick to toast, Fig.
After dinner, our driver Lucky took us to his sister’s house for tea. Her house is really an apartment, which two families with a bunch of kids share. The kids were SO cute; I really wish I’d brought my camera. We had chai while sitting in their bedroom and played catch with their kids for a while, then headed back to Fig’s for the night.
