pushkar

Pushkar (just down the road fr…oh, never mind…) is a small, lovely town sitting on a small lake. It is a very holy place, and the lake is surrounded by ghats where people come to bathe and pray.

pushkar lake

After checking in to our hotel, Pushkar Master Paradise, which is very cute, we headed down to the lake. It’s beautiful in the dark, with lights twinkling all around. We sat there for about half an hour, just taking in the sites.

Since this is such a religious town, all the food vegetarian and booze is illegal (eeek!), but we enjoyed dinner at our hotel, much to Jeff’s surprise.

We were talking and laughing and enjoying the Hindi music on the stereo, when all of a sudden they busted out Aqua’s “Barbie Girl”. Our heads all whipped around and we looked at each other and burst our laughing. How hilariously strange.

Lovely sites, lovely meal and great laughs.
