mumbai to delhi
Today we (finally) checked out of Gordon House, heading off to the airport to catch our flight to Delhi.
The international arrivals area of the Mumbai airport is quite a dive, really, but the Domestic departures area is nice. How strange. “Just arriving here? We’re stinking and dirty! Welcome!” “Leaving to go somewhere else in India? “Hey, where you goin’? It’s nicer here!”
We were quite early arriving at the airport, as we didn’t want to take our chances with the traffic. We walked in and showed our tickets to a security guy at the door…
guard: muhammad ali
me: <the usual blank stare>
guard: muhammad ali
me: <continue staring>
guard: mu.ha.mmad.aliiiii…
me: (to jeff) wha..????
jeff: “you’re.here.early”
me: god, I couldn’t figure out why he was talking about muhammad ali…
jeff: oh my god you’re such a ninny…
We had lunch and several coffees and headed off on our flight, which only took about an hour.
Delhi Airport: Got nothing nice to say about that.
